the present moment

a summer storm rolls over our island home

July is moving through me
like a summer storm rolls over our island home

& suddenly I no longer care
about fact & figures

or what you do for a living

because, there are more important things than
showing up to work on time or being beautiful.

things like feeling the rain on your skin as you step
into the ocean

and sharing bread with someone you love

and catching the sunrise and sunset in the same day

over, & over again

noticing that no matter how many times you live the same day on repeat, the experience of living is never really the same at all

that life is ever-changing,
expanding & beautiful.

like you.

like me.

like this.
