White Porcelain Moon Jar 2

This is part of my series in exploration, reflections and translations of the Korean Secret of the Kingdom Oracle deck.

(how fortuitous & interesting that I pulled Moon Jar #1 and now Moon Jar #2 in order)

This is my interpretation or translation of this particular card & archetypal stage.

translation

You are not at the beginning of your journey, but you are also not quite at the end.

People may be waiting on you. They may even be doubting you, or questioning your abilities. It could also be that no one is waiting on you (or even paying attention), but you are waiting on you (impatient) or doubting your abilities.

You are meant to be deep in your work. Try to be so deep in your work that you aren’t even aware of (can pay no mind or entertainment to) any thoughts outside of the work immediately in front of you.

Doubts, from others or from within, do not serve you right now.

You cannot both be in the present and be engaged with the past or future possibilities. Be so engaged with your work, your life, yourself that everything else disappears into the periphery.

The energy is so strong for where you are going, that doubts or thoughts from others or even external energy and influence will not affect you. These make no difference on the life you live, the love you hold or the work you produce. Refocus your attention on the task at hand.

In this card, the craftsman is becoming one with his work. “He is solely relying on the sensations of his hand to shape the porcelain. Even briefly losing his breath can ruin the whole thing.” This level of consciousness, skillful focus & co-creation leads to precision in the true sense of the word — it leads to mastery.

You are the master of your life. You may not be in total control of your destiny, but you can be in total control of yourself. How things turn out is up to you — the quality of your work, the quality of your love, the quality of your existence is in your hands.

It may not all be easy. Particularly at this stage, effort & composure may be required. But do not disassociate — do not let your mind slip or wander away. Be present with what you set out to accomplish. “Eagerness alone will not get the job done. but you will win the battle against yourself.”

Hone your skills. Be skillful in your work (in your life, and/or in your love).

The difference between a masterpiece and mediocrity depends on who is creating it. How are you leading yourself through? Who do you want to be? Do you want your life/love/situation/work to be a masterful, beautiful work of art?
