the present moment
love what you love
I question if it is good or bad or healthy or f*cking nuts. And at the same time, I realize that perhaps it just is.
Perhaps this is my nature—human nature. And that there is nothing wrong with that.
To quote Mary Oliver—
”You do not have to be good […]
You just have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.”
Love what you love.
& this isn’t about being conscious or unconscious. It isn’t a permissioning to check out, but instead a permissioning to let go of the inner battle. To be.
We so over complicate what it means to be alive in this world—what it means to be human, which is just to be an animal.
We conflate our existence with our accomplishments, forgetting that we are just here to live.
To eat, to sleep,
To love.
These are the things that drive us.
And along the way, we get to feel (pleasure, pain, bliss, joy, despair, inspiration, etc.)
Perhaps, to be alive is to allow the trueness of our human existence to shine.
Who cares what you’ve accomplished
Or how productive you are today
Maybe it is as simple as letting yourself
Love what you love.
